After 20 years of experience as a General Contactor specializing in various aspects of home
improvements, Mathew J. Cicero incorporated South Florida Development Holdings, Corp. (SFDH) in 1999.
Mr. Cicero's vast experience includes manufacturing, home improvement product installation, sales, marketing, land development, and project management.
SFDH has experience in both the private and public sectors having been awarded numerous contracts
from municipalities, including the Metropolitan Dade County contract to provide emergency temporary
housing for 1800 migrant farm workers after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and the State of North Carolina
contract to provide emergency housing for victims of Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
In 2001, in response to a Miami-Dade County auctionof prior HUD housing, SFDH was a partner in Sunset
Palm Villas. That project involved the conversion of 267 units to condominiums. Among other areas of
responsibility, Mr. Cicero oversaw the selection of professionals including, but not limited to, the
general contractor, architect and legal counsel and he was involved in every aspect of construction
and other business and financial related details of the project. In addition to receiving praise and
recognition from local civic and political leaders, Sunset Palm Villas was the catalyst in turning
around a previously blighted area and introduced home ownership to a sector of the population that
had not realized that dream before.
In 2003, SFDH became a partner in the development of Hamilton Place, a 101 townhome development in
Homestead, Florida. Hamilton Place offers Key West style architecture in a newly constructed homeowner's
association development. Currently, SFDH is a party to several contracts for townhome developments and
condominium conversion projects throughout the State of Florida. It is the goal of SFDH and Mr. Cicero
to offer quality construction products in the residential market for both new construction and condo
conversions at a mid-level price point.
